LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Our Daily Bread offered their location to those who want to stay warm.
With the forecast calling for unseasonably cold temperatures for at least the next week, the need for warm clothes and food for local homeless shelters is quite high. On Monday, OSU Lima kicked off their annual "Buckeye Soup" drive for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.
The culinary student-run restaurant will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. The Spartan Inn, located in the northwest wing of the school, has a separate entrance and parking area. The restaurant is not open if school is not in session. The Spartan Inn serves a hot buffet bar, soups, salad and desserts for dine-in or carryout. Different entrees are featured throughout the year.
Community service is a main focus of an after school program of the YWCA of Lima.
The Ottawa Senior Citizen Center held their biggest fundraiser of the year, drawing in hundreds to partake in some home style cooking.
