The Ottawa Senior Citizen Center held their biggest fundraiser of the year, drawing in hundreds to partake in some home style cooking. The center hosted their annual soup and pie day, cooking ham and bean soup in a kettle over an open fire, as well as creating homemade delicious pies. Community members were invited out to come feast and listen to the Country Gentlemen Band in support of the senior center. Pester says they have raised just over $3,000 dollars at past soup and pie days, but with the insurance company matching the donation and the popularity of the event, she feels its going to be a great year.
