The program teaches students both front- and back-of-house skills, including cooking, baking, and customer service, preparing them to enter the workforce straight out of high school. Many students pursue the course out of a love for cooking and with hopes of a future career in the restaurant industry.

The doors opened at an exclusive restaurant in Lima that teaches students the in's and out's of the food industry. The Spartan Inn is once again serving lunch and is asking the public to give them a try. The restaurant is located in the northwest wing at Lima Senior High School. It's open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The culinary students learn all aspects of the business from the front of the house to the kitchen, making the food, and cleaning up. The program is popular with students as they look forward to a career in the industry.
