The doors opened at an exclusive restaurant in Lima that teaches students the in's and out's of the food industry.
The Spartan Inn is once again serving lunch and is asking the public to give them a try. The restaurant is located in the northwest wing at Lima Senior High School. It's open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The culinary students learn all aspects of the business from the front of the house, to the kitchen, making the food, and cleaning up. The program is popular with students as they look forward to a career in the industry.
"I want to go to business school and I want to go to culinary school, so it gives me experience in the kitchen and like next year we get to like run the kitchen like with finances and stuff like that so I'm really excited for that. And I've always really liked cooking so that's kind of why I chose culinary in the beginning and now it's just like reality and I really like it," said Hayleigh VanHorn, Junior Culinary Student.
The Spartan Inn can also supply lunch boxes, veggie and cheese platters, and cookie trays for lunch or business meetings. Just call 419-996-3521 for details.
