FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — Findlay Mayor Christina Muryn highlighted major accomplishments from 2025 and outlined priorities for 2026 during her annual State of the City address.
Looking back at 2025, Muryn pointed to several economic and community development projects, including construction of a Target store at the Findlay Mall, investment in a new micro transit service to expand transportation options, and continued work on downtown Findlay’s recreation area plan.
Flood mitigation efforts were also a key focus. The city is awaiting the release of millions of federal dollars to move forward with construction of the Eagle Creek Basin and phase two benching of the Blanchard River in downtown Findlay. Plans also include a new Norfolk Southern railroad bridge as part of the overall flood prevention strategy.
Housing remains a major priority as well. City officials are seeking interest from residential developers to participate in the State of Ohio Residential Development Revolving Loan Program, which is designed to support new housing projects.
"In last year's budget, the State of Ohio put $100 million aside for a residential revolving loan fund, which would allow municipalities to partner with developers to do low-interest loans for infrastructure that could be paid back over a longer period of time and really paid through like a property tax. And so, the city is saying 'hey, we may be interested in partnering with developers to do that. If you are interested, let's talk.'" says Mayor Christina Muryn, City of Findlay.
More information about the program is available on the Ohio Department of Development’s website.
Letters of interest must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, March 13, 2026, to Muryn at cmuryn@findlayohio.gov.
