LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — If you are planning to fly within the United States this year, you may be facing long lines at airport security checkpoints.
AAA Lima will host a TSA PreCheck enrollment event March 3-6 to help travelers avoid extended waits when going through security.
According to AAA, more than 906 million people were screened by the Transportation Security Administration at U.S. airports in 2025. Around 99% of passengers enrolled in TSA PreCheck spent 10 minutes or less in line.
“Precheck is good for anybody that's going to fly, adults, anybody that has to have that the driver's license to be able to fly, can get TSA Pre check. It is only good for in the country. So if you are going to be traveling outside of the country, you would need something different, the Global Entry, and you would have to get that at the airport," says Cindy Nelson, Manager AAA Lima.
The TSA PreCheck Enrollment Event will take place March 3-6 at AAA Lima, 2115 Allentown Road.
The cost is $85, and enrollment is valid for five years. Appointments are available each day from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
