COLUMBUS GROVE (WLIO) — Celina avenged a regular-season loss to Shawnee, turning a tight halftime deficit into a 50-42 district victory.

Alaina Vehorn sparked the Bulldogs early with a steal and three-point play, then set up Brinley Korte as Celina built a 14-7 first-quarter lead. Shawnee answered in the second behind Ava Gadson and a baseline finish from Morgan Betts to take a 21-18 edge into the break.

After halftime, Celina seized control. Alexa Pearson keyed the push as the Bulldogs clamped down defensively and created separation late.

Celina advances to face Toledo Notre Dame Academy on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Northwood.
