This is not the first attempt to annex the land. An expedited annexation request was brought before Delphos City Council in May, drawing significant public interest. While the city supported the move, Marion Township Trustees opposed the expedited portion of the request. As a result, the property owners are now pursuing a standard annexation process, which requires a public hearing.
The city of Delphos is seeking to annex part of Marion Township for the development of a potential large gas station. According to Delphos Mayor Andre McConnahea, an expedited annexation is being pursued at the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Lehman Road, on the south corner across from Love’s.
An investigation is underway after a man was discovered dead inside his vehicle at a Lima gas station Tuesday evening.
On March 26th, 2021 at 12:14 A.M, the sheriff's office says that a white male entered the Speedway gas station on Harding Highway wearing a grey ball cap, black shirt, and tan pants. The white male proceeded to walk around the store for a short time until another male entered the store. The male was using the ATM located inside the store. The suspect approached him and attempted to make small talk in order to distract him. It was at this time that the suspect shoved the victim and attempted to take his debit card.
A mistake on the United States Postal Service website led people to believe that delivery service had been suspended in Lima today. The postmaster in Lima clarified that services were to go on today despite the freezing wind chill.
