September 22, 2023 Update from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office: The deceased person has been positively identified as Pedro Varrga. Date of Birth 4-5-2002 of Louisville, Ky. The cause of death has been determined to be accidental death by carbon monoxide poisoning. The Allen County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau has examined Mr Varrga's vehicle and it appears an excessive amount of carbon monoxide was leaking into the passenger compartment during the inspection. It is believed Mr. Varrga stopped at the location he was found to rest while traveling through the area. Next of kin has been notified of the coroner's findings.
Noon Edition Update - September 20, 2023: LIMA, OH (WLIO) - An investigation is underway after a man was discovered dead inside a vehicle at a Speedway convenience store on Harding Highway Tuesday night.
Sheriff's deputies and first responders were called out to find the victim to be a 21-year-old Hispanic male, who was believed to be from Kentucky. The cause of death has not been released but detectives say it does appear to be suspicious. An autopsy will be performed by the Lucas County Coroner's Office tomorrow morning and his identity will be released at that time.

September 20, 2023 Media Release from the Allen County Sheriff's Office: At approximately 6:30pm on September 19, 2023 Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 1875 Harding Highway, Lima, for a possible deceased person. Deputies discovered an unresponsive young Hispanic male in the driver’s seat. EMS arrived on scene and pronounced the male dead. He is not believed to be local. The death is considered suspicious and the body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner for an autopsy. The autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow morning and the deceased’s identity is expected to be immediately released. This investigation is ongoing. LIMA, OH (WLIO) - An investigation is underway after a man was discovered dead inside his vehicle at a Lima gas station Tuesday evening.
Sheriff's deputies and other first responders were called out to the Speedway on Harding Highway around 6:45 pm Tuesday evening. According to the Allen County Sheriff's Office, the victim was a 21-year-old male, who was believed to be from Kentucky. The cause of death has not been released, but detectives say it appears to be suspicious. Detectives were on the scene conducting an investigation and waiting for the coroner for several hours. Detectives on scene did say the body will be transported to the Lucas County Coroner's Office in Toledo for an autopsy in the next few days.
