November 1, 2024, Press Release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol: COLUMBUS – Throughout the month of November, the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is conducting an online survey to identify traffic safety concerns and obtain feedback about interactions with the agency. The 2024 Public Survey is anonymous and takes approximately five minutes to complete. The survey is designed to be used as a platform for organizational learning, asking specific questions related to traffic safety issues and previous interactions with OSHP employees. The survey is created in accordance with standards of the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

October 22, 2024, Press Release from the Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission: The West Central Ohio Rural Planning Organization is releasing its DRAFT 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan for public comment. A link to the Long Range Transportation Plan, as well as a survey, will be available for review beginning October 23rd 2024 through Nov 13th, 2024. They will be posted on the Lima-Allen County Regional Planning website as well as on the respective County Engineer’s sites for Auglaize, Hancock, Hardin, Mercer, Putnam, Van Wert, and Wyandot Counties.

Wapakoneta’s last comprehensive plan was completed in 2008 and it was deemed necessary by community officials to develop a comprehensive plan to help plan and coordinate the many great things currently happening in the community.

The library is looking at a strategic plan to improve themselves. They are asking people to take a short survey that will help them understand what they are doing well and what they can improve upon. Questions include, do you use the library? How often do you come to the library? What resources do you use at the library? And what would you like to see differently? The answers will be used for planning purposes.

Each year before soybean harvest, county Agriculture and Natural Resources Extension Educators conduct a county weed survey. The purpose of this survey is to determine the type and number of weeds that are infesting farm fields. Another reason is to develop an understanding of which weeds are becoming resistant to herbicides used by farmers. Once these determinations are made, weed scientists at The Ohio State University develop weed control programs which are then shared with local county Extension Educators to make recommendations for local farmers.
