The federal government pushed back the usual tax-filing deadline from April to July, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, with that new deadline coming later this week, those with Liberty Tax Services have been fairly busy helping people with last-minute filing.

The final deadline to submit your 2018 tax return is here. If you waited to get your taxes done this year, you're not alone: according to the IRS, around 20 to 25 percent of Americans wait until the last 14 days before the deadline to prepare their tax returns.

Some people may be feeling the pressure as we approach the deadline to file your taxes. The deadline of April 15 is just a week away. John Navin of Ohio Northern University has provided some tips for people who waited last minute. He has recommended that there's still time to make contributions to your health savings account and 401K that could impact your return. Most importantly, if you don't think you'll finish in time, file for an extension on the IRS website. 

With just a month left to file your taxes, it may be a good idea to get started to avoid some of the stress on Tax Day.
