One battle being for the seat of the U.S. Senate. Republican candidate JD Vance making a stop in Lima today in order to connect with voters before they officially cast their ballots. Vance says one of his campaign focuses is dealing with the nation's inflation crisis.
The union officials say that Vance has voiced his objection to bills that have already passed that would create millions of dollars of infrastructure improvements in Ohio and also the growth of the electric vehicle industry. That is why they are throwing their support behind Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Tim Ryan. Especially since, he was one of the co-sponsors of the "Protecting the Right to Organize Act" or PRO Act, which has already passed the U.S. House but is still looking for Senate approval.

Congressman Tim Ryan makes a second campaign stop in Lima this week to talk to supporters two weeks from the election. This time the Democratic candidate for Ohio’s U.S. Senate seat talked to local union members and Democrats about his plan to reinvest and create opportunities for communities. During the Lima Workers First Rally, Ryan laid out what he thinks are the big issues in this election. One being abortion, and another being manufacturing and jobs. He believes it is up to the voters to rise to the occasion on what happens on these and other issues.
As he goes from place to place, he hears from voters about impact of the record high inflation that has hit the United States. He says the path to recovery starts with getting more money in American’s pockets, which includes tax breaks and getting skilled workers in higher paying jobs. Recent polling number have Ryan and his challenger Republican JD Vance in virtual neck and neck race. So, we asked Ryan who is going to push him over the top on election night.
Ryan learned more about the collaboration between Good Year and the Air Force research lab in Roder to create a domestic source of natural rubber from a specific species of dandelion. The congressman secured an appropriations bill of five million dollars in order to cultivate the plants in the state of Ohio. Ryan says that seeing this in the United States is important to overall growth in the Air Force.
Tim Ryan made a stop in Lima as part of his bus tour across Ohio less than a month away from the general election. Ryan pointed to recent survey numbers that show him ahead of his Republican challenger J.D.
