The Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio received more than $60,000 from Good Food Restaurants Charities, led by restaurateur John Heaphy. The donation will help support a new facility and expand services for veterans in the region.
A new veterans transportation center has opened in downtown Lima, offering a safe and weather-protected location for veterans traveling to VA appointments. A grand opening ceremony is set for May 6 to celebrate the completion of the long-awaited facility.
Thousands of dollars were donated to a local food pantry aiming to ensure area veterans do not go hungry. A little over $3,700 was donated to the Veterans Food Pantry of Northwest Ohio. The money was raised by Reineke Family Dealerships and the Lima UAW Local 1219 during their 7th annual Veterans’ Car Show earlier in October.
