Reflecting on 81 years since Japanese pilots bombed the U.S. Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Senior Citizens Services held a special event to honor all veterans past and present.
A Veterans Honor Wall is being planned for construction in front of Lima Senior. Veterans who served in active duty and graduated from the lima city school district who apply will have their names engraved on both sides of the wall. So far, 130 names have been collected, and the finished project will have room for around sixteen hundred names.
A traveling replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial helps spread the healing legacy of the wall to northwest Ohio.
The Perry School District puts up a permanent display to recognize their alumni that served in the U.S. military. Tuesday, they unveiled the first 55 names on their Veterans Wall of Honor. The project was started by the National Honor’s Society and 2021 and 2022 classes helped with the fundraising for the mural. Organizers are happy how well the project turned out and how it will honor all the commodores that have served this country.
Students at Ohio Northern University are encouraging one another to stay positive during these stressful times. An encouragement wall has been set up in McIntosh Center filled with positive messages from students.
It was an awe inspiring sight, as over one hundred motorcyclists escorted the Chained Eagles Traveling Wall to be part of the St. Marys Summerfest.
