19-year-old Na'Zier Howard changed his plea Wednesday afternoon. He was indicted for the death of Ke'Vonta Cowan. Howard was 17 years old at the time of the murder and he allegedly shot Cowan at a home on Kenilworth Avenue. Cowan was later pronounced dead at the hospital. As part of Howard's plea agreement, prosecutors dropped another murder charge and a weapons while under disability charge.

They say in terms of prevention, there are steps parents can take to help keep their kids safe. For example, if the parent is a gun owner, they should have their weapon locked up with the ammo stored separately. And if your child is going to a friend's house, she encourages parents to talk to each other about whether they own a gun. There is nothing wrong with asking that question and finding out if they are properly storing their weapons out of reach of the kids. It's also important to talk to your children about gun safety as well, so they understand what to do if they are ever in a dangerous situation.

On 9/26/22 Officers were dispatched to a call of shots fired in the area of Howard St. and Broad Ave. During the investigation it was learned a verbal argument began between several people at 1100 W. Trenton Ave. and then continued on Howard St. coming into the City of Findlay. It was learned an ex of one of the subjects began following the other in a vehicle. While driving e/b on Howard St. the suspect fired gun shots at the victim vehicle directly in front of them hitting the vehicle at least once while driving. No injuries were reported. The victim vehicle pulled over and the suspect vehicle fled the area.

Senator Rob Portman recently gave an update on the fighting in Ukraine on the Senate floor. He says the Biden administration needs to deliver to their army the long-range missiles to help level the playing field against the Russian army. The United States and other allies have delivered just a portion of the missile systems that the Ukrainian army needs.

It can’t be said enough, “know the law,” because it is now the gun owner’s responsibility to decide if they are qualified to carry a weapon. The Lima Police department wants to uphold people's constitutional right to bear arms and doesn’t want to see people get in trouble because they didn’t follow the rules.
