Wildfire activity intensified across the western United States over the weekend, with strong winds and dry conditions fueling flames and forcing evacuations in many spots. The largest blaze was marching through dry, rugged mountains in Utah, where firefighters have been hampered by consecutive days of strong winds. Authorities were surveying burned areas to determine how many homes and summer cabins were destroyed. In Arizona, evacuations were ordered north of Flagstaff while a separate fire burned south of the Grand Canyon. Fires also were burning in Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado and even Florida.

Just after 12:15 pm, Bath firefighters responded to 5250 Reservoir Road, where they found flames and smoke coming out of the rear bedroom of the house. Firefighters put out the flames in about 10 minutes.
Multiple fire departments responded to a two-alarm house fire in Allen County this afternoon. First responders got the call to 3025 North Cool Road just before 2 p.m. Thursday. On arrival they found flames coming from the eaves all around the structure. Crews had to deal with high winds and cold temperatures but were able to get inside to fight the fire before the roof began collapsing.
Multiple fire departments battled a barn fire Monday afternoon just east of Fort Jennings. Just past 3 p.m., the Fort Jennings volunteer fire department responded to 19773 Road 20 in Putnam County, where they found flames shooting through the roof of a barn and approaching two adjacent buildings, one housing pigs.
The Lima Fire Department released more information about the fatal fire Wednesday on W. High Street. They say it was 64-year-old James Shuler who lost his life during the fire. Fire officials ruled the fire's cause accidental. Fire crews were called to 1014 West High Street just before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Perry Township Fire Department evacuated Wal-Mart on Harding Highway Sunday afternoon.
A large mulch fire broke out on the city's northeast side earlier Sunday afternoon and still burned into the evening hours. At around 3:15 p.m., the Bath Fire Department was called out to the Resource Recycling Center for reports of a large fire burning wooden pallets and recycled mulch. Shortly after, mutual aid arrived from 12 fire departments spanning Putnam, Allen, and Hardin counties.
