LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Perry Township Fire Department evacuated Wal-Mart on Harding Highway Sunday afternoon.
All customers and employees were evacuated as a precaution, but the firefighters were able to contain the sparks to the unit and prevent anything nearby from catching fire.
The department was called out just before 4 p.m. to a report of a freezer in the store sparking. Employees were safe to return around 4:30 p.m., and the store reopened at 5 p.m. The Lima Fire Department was also on scene to assist in the evacuation. There were no injuries.
