Braga Fresh is recalling bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets due to a concern of listeria. The ready-to-eat marketside broccoli florets were sold in 20 states by Walmart. No illnesses have been reported. The impacted bags all carry a best-if-used date of December 10th. However, the company is concerned about customers who may have frozen the bags for use later.
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Perry Township Fire Department evacuated Wal-Mart on Harding Highway Sunday afternoon.
Walmart has recalled nearly 10,000 cases of their Great Value apple juice sold in stores locally and across the U.S. The great-value brand apple juice was found to contain potentially harmful levels of inorganic arsenic. The recall applies to all local Walmart locations and locations around Ohio and 25 other states. The Florida-based manufacturer Refresco Beverages U.S. voluntarily recalled the contaminated six-packs of 8-ounce juice bottles after discovering levels of the chemical contaminant that exceeded industry standards.
According to a press release from the Lima Police Department, officers were called out around 5 p.m. to the west side Walmart for a call that a man had a gun inside the store. The man was reportedly pointing the gun at people. Officers arrived on the scene as employees and customers began evacuating from the store. The patrol officers found the subject shortly after entering the Walmart. He backed into a corner and refused to come out.
A challenge aims to raise key funds before the end of the year. The Salvation Army's National Commander, Commissioner Kenneth Hodder, has issued a challenge to all officers/pastors to raise money at a Walmart Kettle.
A man accused of robbing Findlay's Tiffin Avenue Walmart didn't get far. According to the Findlay Police Department, they took a report of a robbery just before 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon at the east side Walmart. Witnesses say a man committed a theft from the store and was confronted by a citizen and an asset protection associate. He then appeared to be pointing a gun towards them from inside his pocket. He then fled the scene in a vehicle, that was stopped in Fostoria, by the local police.
A few Lima businesses felt it was time to give back to the community, just as students are going back to school. Students in 6th grade and younger can pick up a free backpack at Lima Chevrolet Cadillac, Thursday through Saturday. They partnered with T&D Interiors and Walmart to purchase backpacks for the local students who may not have any. Inside they're filled with school supplies like folders, notebooks, coloring utensils and glue. This is the first year the car dealership has done something like this.
The case is on hold for the man arrested for starting a fire in the Kenton Walmart, because he will be hospitalized for psychological treatment. According to the Northern Ohio Federal Court, Caleb Poole of Fredericktown, Ohio is in custody of the U.S. Attorney General's Office and will be committed for psychological treatment at a hospital of their choosing. The treatment is not to exceed four months, and then they will determine if he will be able to stand trial for setting the Kenton Walmart on fire on May 6th.
