ARLINGTON, Ohio (WLIO) — The Arlington Red Devils kept their perfect start intact with a 34-14 victory over the Ada Bulldogs in Blanchard Valley Conference play Friday night.
After a scoreless first half, quarterback Trenton Heacock sparked the Red Devils’ offense in the third quarter. Heacock rolled right and found Dawson Weihrauch for the touchdown, giving Arlington a 19-7 lead after a failed two-point try.
On the next possession, the pair connected again for another score as Arlington began to separate.
Ada tried to shift momentum when senior Kayleb Hickman intercepted a deep ball late in the third quarter, but the Bulldogs were unable to convert the turnover into points.
Arlington answered once more in the red zone as Heacock, under pressure, found Ayden Cavinee on the sideline for a touchdown.
Cavinee threw up the deuces as he crossed the goal line, sealing the Red Devils’ win.
With the victory, Arlington improves to 3-0 overall and stays on top of the BVC standings. Ada falls to 2-1 and will look to bounce back next week.
