BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio — After a strong 2024 campaign that saw Bellefontaine finish second in the Kenton Trail Division of the Central Buckeye Conference, the Chieftains are set to reload in 2025—this time with a new St. Clair under center.

Head coach Jason Brown returns for his 14th season at the helm, but he’ll do so without 21 graduated seniors, including 12 starters. Most notably, Bellefontaine bids farewell to star quarterback Tavien St. Clair, the Division III Co-Offensive Player of the Year and current Ohio State Buckeye.

But the St. Clair name will remain front and center. Tavien’s younger brother, Reign, steps into the spotlight as the new starting quarterback, ready to continue the family legacy.

Bellefontaine opens the season against longtime rival Sidney. But one game already circled on the calendar is Week 7 versus London—the lone team to hand the Chieftains a conference loss last year.

Despite the youth movement, one thing remains certain: this team is hungry, determined, and built on brotherhood.
