ELIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — A West Buckeye League and Midwest Athletic Conference showdown took place at the Elida Fieldhouse as the Lady Bulldogs welcomed Coldwater.
Elida struck early in the first quarter when Emma Mitchell found Lilly Sifrit, and the junior finished at the rim. Sifrit led all scorers with a game-high 20 points.
Moments later, Sifrit returned the favor, kicking it back out to Mitchell. The 6-foot-2 senior knocked down the jumper to give Elida a four-point advantage.
Coldwater responded with perimeter shooting of its own. Sophomore Brylee Knapke buried a three-pointer to halt a 6–0 Elida run. The Cavaliers continued to find success from deep when Knapke connected with her cousin, Mia Knapke, who drained a triple on her way to a team-high 16 points.
Despite Coldwater’s push, Elida kept the pressure on. Lexie Good hustled to keep the play alive before finding Shae Rager, who finished off the glass for the Bulldogs.
Elida held on down the stretch to secure a 46–42 victory and improved to 6–4 on the season.
