MT. CORY, Ohio (WLIO) — In our lone Northwest Central Conference matchup Friday night, Hardin Northern and Cory-Rawson squared off, both searching for their first victory of the season.

Defense dominated from the opening whistle.

Early in the game, the Polar Bears lost the ball on a run, and the Hornets pounced for the first fumble recovery of the night.

Cory-Rawson tried to capitalize with a strong ground attack, but the drive eventually stalled.

Hardin Northern responded with a big play as quarterback Kyler Sedlock rolled right and connected with Blayne Kindle down the sideline for a big gain into the red zone.

However, the Polar Bears’ momentum was cut short on a high snap that turned into another fumble — Cory-Rawson’s defense recovered again, their second takeaway of the half.

Despite the miscues, Hardin Northern’s defense held firm, and the Polar Bears managed to break through just enough to secure an 8-0 win over Cory-Rawson.

The victory gives Hardin Northern their first win of the season, while the Hornets continue to search for theirs.
