LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Central Catholic came out firing in their playoff opener, cruising to a 49–7 victory over Edon in our Spotlight Game of the Week at Spartan Stadium.
The Thunderbirds wasted no time getting on the board. Just eight seconds into the game, quarterback Brady Parker dropped back and connected with Michael Quatman on a 47-yard strike to give LCC a 7–0 lead.
Later in the first quarter, Carter Lester powered his way into the end zone to make it 14–0. Edon would answer back to cut the deficit to seven, but the T-Birds had plenty more offense in store.
Parker found Quatman again on a 39-yard completion to set up another touchdown — this time, a short pass to Lester that extended the lead to 21–7. The junior quarterback stayed hot, connecting once more with Quatman for another score as LCC pulled away.
The Thunderbirds’ offense rolled all night long while the defense held the Bombers in check. LCC improves to 10–1 and has now opened postseason play with a win in each of the last six straight seasons.
With the victory, Lima Central Catholic advances to the regional quarterfinals, where they’ll face the winner of the next matchup in their bracket.
