BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (WLIO) — The Toledo volleyball program made history, claiming its first-ever MAC championship with a 3–1 victory over Western Michigan. The win also secured the Rockets’ first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.
Shawnee graduate Grace Freiberger posted a game-high 29 digs and added three aces, anchoring the Rockets’ defense. New Bremen product Olivia Heitkamp delivered 16 kills and three blocks, giving Toledo the firepower it needed to secure the title.
With the milestone victory, the Rockets now head to the national stage for their first NCAA Tournament berth.
