VAN WERT, Ohio (WLIO) — The Miller City Wildcats are moving on to the Division VII district final after sweeping Ottoville on Monday night at the Cougar Den.
Miller City, who won the regular-season meeting three sets to one, struck first in the opening frame. Despite a soft-touch kill from Ottoville senior Addie Miller and a strong attack by Kendall Schnipke, the Lady Green continued to play from behind. Gemma Otto closed the set with a powerful spike, lifting Miller City to a 25–19 win.
The Wildcats carried that momentum into the second set. Payton Michel set up Quincy Moenter for a quick strike that caught the defense off guard, and senior Savanna Niese followed with a clean two-handed return to extend the lead. Miller City never looked back, completing the sweep 25–19, 25–16, and 25–15.
Miller City advances to face Pandora-Gilboa in the district championship Wednesday at Bluffton University.
