BATH, Ohio — Ottawa-Glandorf punched its ticket to the District 5 baseball championship with a commanding 14-4 victory over Elida on Tuesday at Bath High School.

The Titans overcame an early tie and steadily pulled away behind a strong offensive performance led by Carson Yaeger, who drove in five runs to help send Ottawa-Glandorf into next week's championship game.

Elida answered first-inning adversity in the bottom of the inning when Jack Daugherty launched a solo home run to left field, tying the game at 1-1.

Ottawa-Glandorf responded in the top of the third. Yaeger delivered an RBI single to right field that scored Adam Maag and gave the Titans a 2-1 advantage.

On the mound, senior right-hander Nolan Duling kept Elida's lineup in check. The 6-foot-6 pitcher recorded six strikeouts over five innings, including a pair of strikeouts in the fourth inning, as Ottawa-Glandorf maintained its one-run lead.

The Titans extended their advantage in the fifth when Mason Trombley drove a double to the outfield fence, bringing home two runs to make it 4-1.

Ottawa-Glandorf put the game out of reach in the seventh. Yaeger lined a shot to the left-field wall, driving in two more runs to cap his five-RBI performance.

The Titans finished with a 14-4 victory and will face their next opponent in the District 5 championship game on July 8 at Bath High School.
