LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Marimor Industries offered free shredding at its facility to mark their 10th anniversary.

The company held an open house with food trucks, tours and refreshments to celebrate their 10th year since privatizing and splitting from the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities. People could bring up to 200 pounds of paper to be dropped off and shredded. Officials said the celebration also served as a "thank you" to the individuals and businesses who have contributed to Marimor Industries' growth over the past decade.

"Today is a celebration of the progress, the quality services, and the shared success that we've garnered not just because of what we're doing here, but by all the partnerships and all the things that the community has brought to us as well,"said Terry Heminger, marketing manager.

"We want to do the free shredding, the popcorn, and the food trucks as a thank you not just to the people we serve, but for everybody who has a hand in Marimor Industries in any way at all."

The company plans to innovate by getting individuals directly into the community rather than having them come to the facility. Officials hope this change will foster growth in the community through social interaction.
