SPENCERVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) -Â The Lima Public Library Spencerville Branch is hosting its annual August book sale to bring in funds and promote reading as school begins.
The library is selling old books, DVDs and CDs during the end-of-summer sale. CDs and DVDs are $1 each while books are 10 for $1.
Funds from the sale go directly to library programs and unsold books will be donated to the American Association of University Women for its book sale.
Library workers said the sale helps them interact with the community while promoting reading as the school year starts.

"The community's the reason this building exists. They crowdfunded it 25 years ago, so we're always looking to give back to them," said branch librarian Meghan Murphy.
"Literacy is so important to us. We have a lot of picture books, so we always try to get the teachers here and give them a good deal so they can fund their classrooms."
The sale will run until Aug. 25, and can be found in the library's meeting room during its business hours.
