MCCOMB, Ohio (WLIO) — Pandora-Gilboa continued its strong start to Blanchard Valley Conference play Friday night, pulling away in the second half for a 47-30 win over McComb at Herb Aldrich Gymnasium.

The matchup featured two teams headed in opposite directions in league play, with Pandora-Gilboa entering the night unbeaten in the BVC and McComb still searching for its first conference victory. Early on, the Panthers showed energy on their home floor.

McComb struck first as Carsen Stateler used a quick crossover to create space and knock down a jumper. The Panthers followed with baskets from Aiden Hendren and Madden Halker, briefly building momentum with strong work on the glass and quick second-chance points.

Pandora-Gilboa responded by finding its rhythm from the perimeter. Cory Gerten knocked down a three-pointer to cut into the deficit, and moments later Matthew Benroth connected from the corner to even the score and shift momentum back to the Rockets.

From there, Pandora-Gilboa settled in defensively and began to separate as the game wore on. The Rockets limited McComb’s scoring opportunities while steadily adding to the lead, turning a close contest into a comfortable conference win by the final horn.

With the victory, Pandora-Gilboa improved to 4-0 in Blanchard Valley Conference play, while McComb dropped to 0-5 in league action.
