HARROD (WLIO) — Pandora-Gilboa opened its volleyball season with a dominant road victory, sweeping Allen East in straight sets on Tuesday night.
The Rockets rallied in the first set after falling behind early. Senior Keelin Miller came up with a key block to slow down the Mustangs, while Corrin Luginbill powered home multiple kills, including the strike that sealed a 25-15 win in the opener.
Allen East battled behind Aleena Nickles, who found holes in the defense, and setter Ella Downing, who connected with Lauren Wireman for a strong finish at the net. The Mustangs pushed Pandora-Gilboa throughout the match, but couldn’t overcome the Rockets’ momentum.
Luginbill continued her standout night in the second set with timely plays that kept Allen East off balance. Pandora-Gilboa went on to take the final two sets 25-19 and 26-24, completing the sweep.
The Rockets head into their next contest with confidence, while the Mustangs look to regroup and build off their strong stretches of play.
