LIMA (WLIO) — Pandora-Gilboa is moving on after a dramatic walk-off win in sectional final baseball action Tuesday night.
The Rockets defeated Arlington 4-3 at Pandora-Gilboa High School to advance to the next round of the postseason tournament.
Pandora-Gilboa tied the game in the bottom of the third inning when a throw to third sailed into the outfield, allowing Cam Verhoff to race home and make it 1-1.
Arlington answered in the fourth. Louie Jones reached safely on a ground ball to second, allowing Chayse Simon to score and give the Red Devils a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning, Nicholas Clark added another run with an RBI single to center field that brought home Deuce Davis.
Trailing 3-2 entering the bottom of the seventh, the Rockets mounted a comeback. With the bases loaded, Verhoff drew a walk to force in Grady Kempf and tie the game.
Moments later, Tanner Bott worked another bases-loaded walk, bringing home Tressel Grothouse for the game-winning run.
Pandora-Gilboa advances to face McComb, which defeated Hardin Northern 14-0. The Rockets and Panthers will meet Thursday in Findlay.
