CLAYTON, Ohio (WLIO) — It was an all-MAC showdown for the Division VI regional championship as St. Henry and Fort Recovery battled for a spot at state.
In the opening set, Fort Recovery came out strong — Brynn Willmann fired a powerful spike to keep the Indians close, trailing 17–14. But St. Henry’s Karlee Buschur took over from there, slamming home a kill from the far side as the Redskins took the first set 25–17.
The momentum carried over into the second set, where Buschur led the charge during a 13–0 St. Henry run. Karlee Baumer finished it off with a rocket down the line to seal the set 25–3.
Fort Recovery continued to fight in the third, getting points from Willmann and Bridget Homan, but the Redskins proved too strong. With match point on the line, senior libero Morgan Baumer closed it out with an ace to clinch the sweep.
St. Henry wins in straight sets (25–17, 25–3, 25–8) to capture the Division VI regional title. The Redskins advance to their 17th state tournament appearance, where they’ll face Independence next Thursday at Wright State University.
