The Allen County Engineer's Office is gearing up for their 2017 road program and the mild winter may be a benefit when it comes to repairing roads.
There are more than 900 miles of roads in Allen County and each year, county and township crews drive them making a so-called wish list of repairs, whether it's paving, sealing, or other type of work. A big contributing factor in what will be done is the budget and that stems around what kind of winter we are having.
Allen County does an average of $500,000Â to $600,000 worth of work with the road program. Those dollars come from license plate fees and gas taxes.
