Community members were on a roll Saturday afternoon as they helped raise money for Big Brothers, Big Sisters.
Close to a hundred people participated in the Allen County Big Brothers, Big Sisters Bowl for Kids Sake event today at Westgate Lanes. There were bowlers from dozens of Lima-area businesses such as Procter and Gamble, Pat's Donuts and Kreme and Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships.
Throughout the bowling fundraiser bowlers also had the opportunity to win raffle prizes such as NBA tickets, free car rentals, gift cards arcades and more. The organizers said this event is important because it helps fund the recruitment process.
“It helps us recruit mentors,” said Fran Biaglow, the Allen County Big Brothers, Big Sisters Executive Assistant. “We vet our mentors. We do federal state and local background checks and that really helps us to mentor the children.”
