Right on budget. Allen County commissioners say the county is operating efficiently as they head into the last quarter of 2019.
The commissioners have been keeping a close eye on the budget with updates and meetings throughout the year. The 2019 general fund budget is just over 28 million dollars and departments are staying within their operating budget. All in all, everything is going as planned and commissioners are starting work on the 2020 budget process.
"The revenues are where the budget commission, you know, estimated, you know, we're looking. And, you know, our budgeted amounts are staying within means. I mean obviously, there's some increases in spending, you know, in certain areas and then there's also, you know, decreases in spending and that's the budget, right? And, you know, we are confident where we're at for '19 and just excited going into 2020," commented Cory Noonan, Allen County commissioner.
Noonan says they're already setting up meetings with department heads to go over their requests for the 2020 budget.
