LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – While it might be too early to start planting, it’s never too early to plan your garden. The Allen County Master Gardeners encouraged green thumbs to get the most out of their outdoor spaces during the annual Art of Gardening Seminar.

Professors from Ohio State University and experts from OSU Extension offices offered presentations on raised bed gardening, native versus non-native plants, and the fun and function of plant names. The master gardeners and the extension office aim to provide up-to-date information for anyone looking to enhance their outdoor spaces.

Allen County Master Gardeners help gardeners plan for a beautiful season

“it’s certainly never too early to start planning for the garden right now. I mean, the session currently happening is raised bed gardening, so if you don't have a raised bed now, Trevor, introduce how to how to go about creating one or making one, and how to utilize one in your own garden. So, it's never too early. We're always looking forward to it, and always looking forward to utilizing the space we have at home and the garden and how we make it better every year," said Garth McDorman, Allen County OSU Extension Educator.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Allen County Master Gardeners’ Art of Gardening Seminar.
