Allen County is being recognized by State Auditor Keith Faber for a job well done.
Allen County Auditor Rachel Gilroy accepting the “Clean Audit Award” from Faber’s office. Only 8% of the 5,900 audits qualify for this award. There are many things that have to be checked off to receive a clean audit to assure taxpayers money is being used properly.
Joe Braden from Auditor Faber’s office had this to say, “We look at everything and make sure that the money coming in and the money going out is being spent properly on taxpayers behalf. For an entity this large to receive an award like this says a lot.”
Allen County Auditor Rachael Gilroy says. “It’s an honor to receive an award like this. It really belongs to the entire county. Without the assistance and compliance of every county department, the proper procedures followed and the proper protocol in every single transaction we wouldn’t receive an award like this. So it really belongs to the entire county.”
Commissioners commended the Allen County Auditor’s office for receiving the award.
