ELIDA, Ohio (WLIO) — St. John’s Blue Jays, undefeated at 24-0, hosted the Arcadia Redskins, 16-8, in the Division VII district final at Elida High School.

The Blue Jays jumped out to an early lead. Easton Elwer drove to the basket for his first points of the night. St. John's began the game on a 12-0 run.

Arcadia finally got on the board when Lamarion Tucker made a jumper, but St. John’s remained in control.

Easton Elwer continued to contribute, feeding Tyce McClain for key layups and keeping the Blue Jays ahead throughout the first half.

Andrew Elwer turned defense into offense for the junior-heavy Blue Jays, finishing with a game-high 21 points. His brother, Cameron Elwer, the Furman commit, added 16 points and moved to 7th on the OHSAA all-time scoring list.

St. John’s held Arcadia at bay in the second half, cruising to a 78-26 victory. The Blue Jays will face Cincinnati College Prep at Butler High School on Wednesday, March 11th in the regional semifinals.
