ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) - If you’ve got the 2025 Allen County Fair circled on your calendar, now you’ve got even more to be excited about.
The fair has announced its 2025 concert headline artist: contemporary Christian singer Lauren Daigle. Daigle, a Louisiana native, performed "America the Beautiful" with artist Trombone Shorty at Super Bowl 59 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. She also set the record for attendance at the 2024 Iowa State Fair, drawing more than 9,700 people.
We caught up with fair manager Troy Elwer to talk about bringing the Super Bowl performer to the Allen County Fair.
"I tell you what, it is an extremely difficult and long process. Everybody thinks that if an artist is within the fair's budget, well, we just place an offer on them and we get them. Well, if it was that easy, everybody would be doing it. So it's definitely a long process, and all of the stars have to align, from the artists routing their tour, they can't be playing too close from you in a certain vicinity of time. There's just a lot of factors that go into making this show possible. So we're extremely fortunate to get somebody like Lauren in our backyard right here in Lima," said Troy Elwer, fair manager of the Allen County Fair.

Lauren Daigle won’t be the only new feature at the fair this year. The 2025 event marks the 175th anniversary of the Allen County Fair. With such a momentous occasion, Elwer says they have something special planned to surprise fairgoers—but you'll have to wait to find out what it is.
"There is one kind of exciting project that I'm gonna tease just a little bit here. It's gonna be rolling out in May. It'll be a week long project and I'm gonna call it 'something extraordinary' that's going to kind of be a celebration piece for our 175th anniversary. I think the community is really gonna to like it," added Elwer.
The Lauren Daigle headline concert will be Saturday, Aug. 16, at 8 p.m. at the Allen County Fairgrounds. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 28, at 9 a.m. Ticket prices, which are listed on your screen, include spots in the grandstands, on the horse track, in the party pit, and at the stage front.
