LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Recognizing local businesses for the contributions they make across the region is the goal behind the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce Small Business Awards.

Finalists for this year’s awards were announced during the cha mber’s monthly briefing, highlighting 25 businesses and individuals across eight categories. Winners will be revealed at a gala scheduled for Thursday, May 7, at the UNOH Event Center.

25 finalists named for Lima Chamber Small Business Awards Gala

Chamber officials say the event serves as an opportunity to celebrate organizations and leaders making a meaningful impact throughout the Lima region.

“Our annual awards gala is really exciting opportunity to recognize some of the businesses and leaders in our community doing tremendous work to not only support our business community, but our broader community throughout the Lima region,” said Josh Unterbrink, president and CEO of the chamber.

Finalists for the Above and Beyond Award include Superior Credit Union, The Lima News and Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships.

Athena Award finalists are Bev Beery, Barbara Duval and Ann Meiring.

Emerging Business of the Year finalists include Lima Social House, Unicient Marketing and Management, and Wiechart Dental Smile Studio.

Non-Profit of the Year finalists are Area Agency on Aging 3, Lima Family YMCA and Visit Greater Lima.

Small Business of the Year finalists include Alexander & Bebout, Technical Roofing of St. Henry LLC, and Trisco Systems Inc.

Woman-Owned Business finalists are Replenish and Renew, All Service Glass Company and Heavenly Stitches LLC.

Young Leader of the Year finalists include Jessica Cunningham, Justin Walter, Rylan Ward and Samuel White Jr.

New this year, the Agricultural Impact Award finalists are 7-M Farms, the Ohio State University 4-H Program, and the University of Northwestern Ohio Ag Tech Program.
