July 3, 2025, Press Release from the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities:
LIMA, Ohio - The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities is partnering with the Johnny Appleseed Metropolitan Park District to host an adaptive kayaking event on July 8 and 9. This event will be held at the Lima Lake at Ottawa Metro from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM.
With the success of last year's event, this year's event will be two days. Participants will have the ability to kayak for about 20 minutes each. Participants can also enjoy a photo booth, karaoke, the JAMPD beetle van, corn hole and other activities. JAMPD received a grant for the adaptive kayaks and the all abilities kayak launch which was installed at Lima Lake in 2023.
