Allen County EMA launches user-friendly website to improves access to safety and alert information

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — The Allen County Office of Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security has updated its website to make it more user-friendly for residents.

The site, www.Allen-EMA.com, is designed to provide easy access to information across all types of devices. It includes resources on emergency preparedness and safety, and allows Allen County residents to sign up for emergency and weather alerts.

Officials say the redesigned website will also help keep residents better informed during potential hazards.

“Right now, there's some good ways that they can invest in their own safety, being aware of storms and stuff. There's a radar that's links to the National Weather Service radar on there, as well as, as we move forward, we're looking for other things that people can easily go to in order to, you know, be aware of different hazards, what they can do in response to that," says Jared Gesler, Director Allen County Homeland Security/EMA.

Gesler said that during an emergency, the EMA can update the homepage to serve as a one-stop location for residents seeking the latest information.
