LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The newest class of the Allen Lima Leadership program began its journey Friday to learn more about the region where participants live and work.

It was orientation day for 35 people, who spent time getting to know one another and learning more about the 10-month course. The group will meet one Friday each month and will get behind-the-scenes looks at several area industries and businesses. The program also offers participants valuable networking opportunities.

Jeremy Amstutz of Mercy Health–St. Rita’s said, "I took up on this opportunity because I want to be more engaged with my community. I want to learn from others in different industries specifically, and just participate and take the next step."

Deb Katzenmeyer of the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce said, "I was new to Lima from Fort Wayne, Indiana when I started at the chamber, and I feel like this is a great opportunity for me to finally put the pieces together of how all the things in Lima Allen County work together and the behind the scenes stuff."
