LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — ArtSpace/Lima is partnering with the Ohio Arts Council to bring grant opportunities directly to the community.

A free “Grant Talk” session will be held Tuesday, March 31, at 6 p.m. at ArtSpace, giving artists, educators, businesses and organizations a chance to learn how to apply for state funding.

Representatives from the Ohio Arts Council will walk attendees through available programs, application requirements and the review process ahead of the next grant deadline on May 1. Organizers say the event is designed for anyone looking to incorporate the arts into their work, from individual artists to schools and community groups.

“We're hoping to see a lot of people, and the Ohio Arts Council is hoping to get a lot of questions answered and maybe some new information out there, so we can continue to support the arts and have a better community because of it,” said Sally Windle, executive director of ArtSpace/Lima.

The gallery is also accepting submissions for its 74th annual spring art show. Artists 18 and older are encouraged to apply. Intake dates are April 16-18, with the exhibit running May 2-June 6.
