LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - It was a fiesta at Kessler Estates as dozens celebrated Cinco de Mayo!
The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities and its capabilities program made a trip to Kessler to join the seniors in singing, eating, and just having fun. Both agencies say it's a joy to see them all interact with each other and making new friends.
"This is wonderful for everybody - it is wonderful for those served by the board, it is wonderful for the residents at Kessler Estates," said Tammy Delong, community connection specialist for ACBDD. "Everybody just wants to get together and have friends and have a good time, that's what we're all about."
"It's very important to us," said Amy Howard, community resource director for Kessler Estates Senior Living. "It's great for our elders to get to spend time with other people in the community and enjoy these events."
Both say they may get together again for other activities.
