THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF ALLEN COUNTY
On Thurs., Feb. 20 at 6:00 p.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF ALLEN COUNTY at the ALLEN COUNTY MUSEUM ( 620 W. Market St. Lima, OH).
Join a naturalist at the Allen County Museum to highlight their exhibit, “Curious By Nature”, which displays the works of Charley and Evie Harper. Their art often focuses on nature and Ohio’s beautiful style. We’ll discuss their subject and specifically what we can find close to home!

SUGAR BUSH STROLL
On Sat., Feb. 22 at 11:00 a.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer a SUGAR BUSH STROLL at MCLEAN TEDDY BEAR PARK (2004 N. Dixie Hwy. Lima, OH).
Do you know what it takes to go from sap to syrup? Come walk the woods with us to find out! In this program for adults and families we’ll meander through the maples and learn the steps in the maple syruping process. A sweet surprise is sure to be in store!

SEARCHING FOR SIGNS OF SPRING
On Sun., Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer SEARCHING FOR SIGNS OF SPRING at KENDRICK WOODS (971 N. Defiance Trail, Spencerville, OH).
Come walk off that cabin fever as we explore Kendrick Woods to discover some of the first signs of spring! One of our favorites is the earliest blooming wildflower, skunk cabbage. This “warm-blooded” plant may not smell great, but it offers some hope that winter may finally be loosening it’s grip! Dress for the weather and ground conditions.

JOGGING WITH JOHNNY
On Mon., Feb. 24 at 5:00 p.m. THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer JOGGING WITH JOHNNY at the OTTAWA METRO PARK (2632 Ada Rd., Lima, OH).
It’s “snow” much fun to get fit with a Johnny Appleseed accountabilibuddy! Join Naturalist Lindsey for a warm-up walk and a few laps around Ottawa Metro Park. All ages and abilities welcome in their fitness journey. Choose a pace that is comfortable for you. Dress for the weather and come out rain or shine! Meet at the Wyandot Shelter to sign in.

FEEDING DAY
On Thurs., Feb. 27 at 4:00 p.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer FEEDING DAY at the MCELROY ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER (2355 Ada Rd., Lima, OH).
The Park District maintains several education animals, using them throughout the year for nature presentations and programs. Join the Critter Care volunteers to help (or watch) them clean and feed all our animals.
