LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — People from across the Lima area headed downtown Thursday evening for the first Third Thursday event of the summer.

Hosted by Downtown Lima Inc., organizers said the monthly series continues to grow each year. Part of Main Street was closed for the Lima Farmers Market and a cruise-in. Spring and Main featured live music on the rooftop, while ArtSpace/Lima hosted a garage sale and free trolley rides were available. Several downtown businesses also offered special meal deals for visitors. At the Greater Lima Region Park and Amphitheater, one person won $1,000 after making a half-court shot during a contest hosted by Woof Boom Radio and sponsored by Winans Coffee & Chocolate.

Third Thursday summer series returns to downtown Lima

“The first person to make the shot gets $1,000, but we also have a bunch of secondary prizes, lots of freebies, and it's all to our downtown businesses. So, whether you're going to Social House or to Winans, we have prizes and giveaways to Casa Lu Al, and pretty much everywhere downtown. Third Thursday is supposed to be a great night for people to explore all the different businesses here in downtown Lima,” said Evan Nieto, promotions director for Woof Boom Radio.

The series will continue through September, and the next event is scheduled for June 18.
