LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A two-alarm fire seriously damaged a Lima home early Friday morning.
The Lima Fire Department was called to 542 E. Albert St. around 1:40 a.m. after reports of a structure fire. Flames were seen coming from both the first and second floors of the residence. The resident was able to escape with some of his animals before fire crews got there.
However, firefighters rescued a dog from inside the home and gave it oxygen. No firefighters were injured during the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Damage to the property and its contents is estimated at around $61,000.
