LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Former Allen County Regional Transit Authority director, Sheila Haney, has been sentenced after being found guilty of several charges regarding misuse of RTA money.

Haney has been ordered to serve a concurrent aggregate sentence of 30 months in prison. She has also been ordered to pay nearly $28,000 to the RTA and $410 to the Ohio Auditor of State in restitution. In July, Haney was found guilty of theft in office, 4 counts of tampering with records, tampering with evidence, and telecommunications fraud.

Haney has been ordered to serve a concurrent aggregate sentence of 30 months in prison.

On Friday in court and after an audit of the RTA's financial records, State Auditor Keith Faber says Haney illegally sold RTA vehicles and put that money into a political action campaign. Haney denied knowledge that this was illegal. Faber also added Haney used the RTA's credit card for personal expenses for various trips.
