LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A hearing for a Findlay man who allegedly shot at a Bluffton police officer in 2021 was scheduled for Monday.

They were intending to settle a potential motion to dismiss charges against 53-year-old Ronald Powell. Shortly after the hearing began, it was determined it would need to be continued at a later date so both the state and defense could have people in court to testify on the motion so the judge can make his ruling.

Powell is being held in the Allen County Jail on charges stemming from a 2021 incident in which he allegedly fired at law enforcement officers during a pursuit around Bluffton. No one was injured during the incident. Powell was later arrested in Michigan after he escaped capture locally.
